SignalDart (“SignalDart”, “we”, “us”) provides an AI market-intelligence platform. This policy explains what personal data we process when you use our website and product, and the rights you have over it.

1. Data we collect
You give us
- Account data: name, email address and password hash (authentication is handled by our identity provider, Clerk).
- Early-access signups: your email address and which page you submitted it from.
- Research inputs: the startup ideas, project names and queries you enter.
- Billing data: handled by our payment processor. We never see or store full card numbers.
We collect automatically
- Usage data: pages viewed, features used, timestamps.
- Technical data: IP address, browser and device type, referring URL.
- Cookies: strictly necessary cookies for sign-in and security. See section 7.
We generate
- Research output: competitor, SEO and market analysis produced from public web sources in response to your inputs.
2. Why we process it
- To provide the service: running research, generating reports, monitoring markets. Legal basis: performance of a contract.
- To secure the service: abuse prevention, rate limiting, audit logging. Legal basis: legitimate interests.
- To communicate: service notices, and early-access updates if you asked for them. Legal basis: consent or legitimate interests.
- To bill you: subscriptions and invoices. Legal basis: performance of a contract.
- To comply with law: tax, accounting and lawful requests. Legal basis: legal obligation.
3. AI processing
Research is produced by large language models operated by third-party providers. Your inputs are sent to those providers to generate output. We do not use your private research to train shared or public models, and we ask the same of our providers under their enterprise terms.
AI output can be wrong. It is decision-support, not professional advice. Verify anything important before acting on it.
4. Sharing
We do not sell your personal data. We share it only with processors who help us run the service:
- Cloud hosting and database providers
- Authentication provider (Clerk)
- AI model providers
- Search and web-data providers used for research
- Payment processor
- Email delivery provider
Each is bound by a data-processing agreement. We may also disclose data where legally required, or in connection with a merger or acquisition (you would be notified).
5. International transfers
Some providers operate outside your country. Where data leaves the UK/EEA we rely on adequacy decisions or Standard Contractual Clauses. Enterprise plans can request regional data residency.
6. Retention
- Account and research data: kept while your account is active.
- After deletion: removed or anonymised within 30 days, except where law requires longer.
- Billing records: retained 7 years for tax compliance.
- Early-access emails: until you unsubscribe or we launch.
7. Cookies
We use strictly necessary cookies for sign-in, session security and CSRF protection. These cannot be switched off without breaking the product. If we add analytics or marketing cookies we will ask for consent first.
8. Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to:
- Access a copy of your data
- Correct inaccurate data
- Delete your data (“right to be forgotten”)
- Export your data in a portable format
- Object to or restrict processing
- Withdraw consent at any time
- Complain to your data protection authority
Account settings include self-service export and deletion. For anything else email support@signaldart.com. We respond within 30 days.
9. Security
Encryption in transit (TLS) and at rest, hashed credentials, role-based access control, audit logging and least-privilege internal access. See our Security page for detail.
10. Children
SignalDart is not intended for anyone under 16, and we do not knowingly collect their data. Contact us if you believe a child has given us data and we will delete it.
11. Changes
We will post any update here and change the date above. Material changes will be emailed to account holders at least 30 days before taking effect.
